Hazel O. Evans, 80, of Sciotoville died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. A native of New Boston, she was born Sept. 10, 1919 to the late John Patton and Minta Hale Patton. She was a former manager for Spiegels. She was a member of the Sciotoville Christian Church and the Golden Bears, and was a graduate of Glenwood High School. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Evans; one brother; Joseph Edward Patton. Surviving are one son Roger Evans of Deering; one daughter; Joy Bolander of Jacksonville, FL.; one brother John Patton, Jr. of Richmond, VA.; two sisters; Vina Marie Mullinix of Portsmouth; Phyllis Joy Clark of New Boston; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Art Marcum, minister, officiating. Burial in Scioto Burial Park. The family’s favorite charity is Hospice of Southern Ohio.
