Miss Elizabeth Rowley
Miss Elizabeth Rowley, 80, retired school
teacher, 5936 Gallia st. Sciotoville,died at 8 p.m.
Monday in Mercy hospital. Complications
resulting from a hip fracture suffered last
Dec. 6 in a fall in her home were attributed
as the cause of her death.
Miss Rowley taught in the public schools of
Scioto co. the last 46 years. She joined the
Christian church in Sciotoville at the age of 14
and taught a Sunday school class there for
60 years. A life long resident of Scioto co.,
she was born Aug. 22, 1866, on Hastings Hill.
Her parents were the late Edward and Elizabeth
Ann Deaver Rowley. Surviving are three brothers,
Harry, at home, Ernest of Lynn, Ky., and Frank
of Guyandotte, W.Va.. Three brothers and four
sisters preceded her in death. Lasts rites will be
held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gill funeral home
where thebody now may be viewed. Rev. William
O. Norris will be in charge. Burial will be in
Rowley cemetery.
